The PTO supports Middleton Elementary by providing funding for supplemental curriculum needs,
extra-curricular enrichment programs and additional building needs not supplied by the district.
In the winter, the PTO hosts an Art & STEM Fair. The STEM fair portion has students create and display a presentation based on an experiment or research. Art made during class will be on display in the media center for viewing. All students are invited to participate; all families are welcome to attend and view all of the students' hard work!
These goals address specific Middleton needs each year.
The PTO funds software programs such as RAZ, an online reading program with interactive ebooks, downloadable books, and reading quizzes; and BrainPOP, an online animated educational site for kids to learn science, social studies, English, math, arts & music, health and technology.
Middleton’s PTO is pleased to provide reimbursement for grade level/department related expenses up to $500 for the 2024-2025 school year. These expenses include:
Classroom manipulates to be shared with the grade
Grade level crafts
Grade level activities
Middleton’s PTO is pleased to provide reimbursement for classroom related expenses up to $225 for the 2024-2025 school year. These expenses include:
Classroom decor
Classroom manipulates
Classroom crafts/activities
Classroom rewards
Individually purchased resources (eg. Teachers pay teachers).
Each year, Middleton holds a Kindergarten Roundup for all incoming Kindergarteners and their parents to familiarize themselves with the school and its functions. This is a very well attended event and PTO pays for snacks for the students and sets up various tables to share information (i.e. School Tool Boxes) with new Middleton parents.
This is an optional PTO-sponsored event. Teams form a reading club, read a variety of books, and participate in a trivia competition about those books. The intent is to foster a love of reading, introduce the students to books they may not otherwise choose, provide opportunities to work as a team, and to have fun! Learn more about Reading Rivalry here. Additional coaching resources are available online during the season.
This program provides funds to the Media Center to cover the cost of books, magazine subscriptions, and more.
This fund provides financial assistance to any students who need it for school supplies, field trips, or any other needs.
This program provides financial support to ensure the health office, safety patrol, and playground staff have what they need to assist and ensure the well-being of our students.
Each year, we invite families to join us in helping to make the season a little easier for some Middleton families by collecting and distributing holiday gifts. Details on how to sign up to purchase a gift or make a monetary donation to the program are shared with the Middleton community in November. If your family is in need of help with holiday gifts, please reach out to our school social worker.
The PTO has programs to celebrate milestones like the 5th Grade and Kindergarten graduations. We also show appreciation to all our staff, from the office staff, to the custodial crew, to each individual teacher.
Each student receives a birthday book from the office.
